One of the most beautiful Biosphere Reserves in Cuba. The big areas offer different geographical contrasts such as marine terraces and mountainous elevations with a exuberant vegetation that endow this site like an unforgettable place to be in contact with an almost virgin nature. This park covers an extensive area of forest, offering visitors numerous attractions such as the Valley of Prehistory, the Museum of Land Transport, the Great Lagoon of Baconao, Daiquirí beach and the Great Stone, a stunning viewing point in the ruins of a French coffee plantation.        

Discover the La Gran Piedra Mountain Range, and admire the most surprising geologic formation in the area. A huge volcanic rock, with around 63,000 tons, is located on top of a mountain at 1,225 meters (4,019 feet) above sea level, with cool atmosphere and lush vegetation, housing numerous interesting spots like the Botanic Garden, the Cafetal de La Isabelica Coffee Plantation and Prado de las Esculturas. Visitors have access to the Gran Piedra through 452 steps, where they enjoy adventure amid exuberant vegetation of ferns, orchids and other species growing in the region, in addition to 926 animal species, including the "tocororo" (Cuban trogon - Priotelus temnurus), Cuba's national bird, complement the region's offer for adventure tourism. You’ll be able to enjoy the splendour of nature and be witness of the legacy of history while discovering the coffee plantations created by French farmers after running away from the bloody revolt of slaves from Haiti in 1791.

The Great National Park, covering around 38,000 hectares across the provinces of Granma, Santiago de Cuba and Guantánamo. This is not only the site of the highest point on the Island, the Pico Turquino (1,974 metres above sea level), but also the peaks of Cuba, Caracas and Magdalena, ideal for mountain climbing. Of particular interest to visitors is the place known as El Saltón-Cedrón, ideal for ecotourism and health tourism. You’ll find an array of endemic species here, including, and birds such as Carta Cuba, Tocororo and Zunzun. This park contains many sites of historical interest, such as La Plata, which served as Fidel Castro’s headquarters in the late 1950s.

The Granjita Siboney Museum is located in the road to Playa Siboney Beach, in the province of Santiago de Cuba. It is the former encampment from where the youngsters that took the Moncada Headquarters, the second military fortress in the city of Santiago de Cuba, on July 26th 1953 left. In the 7 exhibition rooms of this museum you’ll also discover the historic house, the previous preparations to the famous assault, the development and the consequences it had for Cuba. It exhibits valuable documents and personal objects of some of the intrepid young rebels. Among its most valued objects are the semiautomatic M-1 with folded butt used by the revolutionaries during the assault, sports rifle, uniforms, documents, photographs.
