About
Motel La Gran Piedra
If you are looking for inexpensive accommodation, complete with spectacular views, a good range of outdoor activities & a taste of old Cuba, Hotel Gran Piedra has it all.
The hotel is on the side of Gran Piedra Mountain 1227 metres above sea level, so you can step out from your room & enjoy views of Cuba that have not changed for centuries. There are many miles of unspoiled views, whether of the colourful flora & fauna, the imposing mountains or the sparkling ocean.
There is also lots to do as the hotel is in the Bacanao Park area, where there is a large sea life centre, a transport museum (with lots of classic cars), a prehistoric park & activities such as horse riding & hiking. You can also explore the ruins of an ancient French coffee plantation.
Gran Piedra’s facilities are basic but more than adequate for the price & with entertainment activities put on by friendly, enthusiastic staff. The hotel is all-inclusive with food & drink available on a 24-hour basis. The food is good, though the menu can be limited.
Away from the traditional tourist hotspots of Cuba, Gran Piedra is a well run budget hotel which should provide a memorable experience for travellers looking for a different type of Cuban holiday.
